Open Colour Systems Collection 1.0 is online

At this year's Libre Graphics Meeting, the Open Colour Systems Collection was introduced. It makes 367 well-known colour systems with their respective Lab colour values available to anyone for free use. The colour systems are under CreativeCommons licence, i.e. you can use/publish/reproduce them as long as the author is named and the contents are not changed. In other words, any software producer can now for free integrate hundreds of colour systems into its products!

The chosen SBZ file format is an easy-to-read xml variant in a zip container, which is also used in the open source software Swatchbooker. In addition to the Lab colour values, it also contains illustrations of the respective subjects and further information in German and English. Further information can be found in the readme file included in the zip.
