In an article for Publisher magazine, our Swiss founding member Peter Jäger looks at the challenges and practical approaches of cross-media publishing.
It makes absolute sense to define the colours used neutrally in Lab, namely within the intersections of the output gamuts to be observed, these are e.g. the sRGB and the eciCMYK_v2 colour space. This is possible (and free of charge) via the freieFarbe HLC Colour Atlas and via http://gamutmap.com. Secondly, the article also deals with suitable PDF formats and application programmes for generating cross-media data.
It should be clarified in advance of the design whether the data is to be output-neutral or defined for a specific output. „You need to be prepared to break new ground,“ is the conclusion.
