Wir sind in eine Arbeitsgruppe der CIE (Commission Internationale de l’Eclairage, Herausgeber des CIELAB Standards) aufgenommen worden. Es ist das Technische Kommittee 8-13 „Colour Gamuts for Output Media“. Dessen Aufgabe lautet: „To study and recommend methods for computing and communicating colour gamuts for output colour reproduction media.“
The idea to collaborate came up during the work on our latest project: the HLC atlas. This shows the colour spaces of different output situations (FOGRA39, sRGB, Epson x900) as CIELab polar coordinates. For this, the gamuts have to be determined - we create bitmaps from HLC colour fields of the entire CIELAB colour space and cut out the gamuts in Photoshop - maybe our method is even interesting for the CIE?
We hope that our participation in this renowned organisation will provide us with important contacts and a boost for the freieFarbe idea.
The HLC Atlas will soon be available for download on the fF website.
