Say goodbye to the CMYK workflow!
In several videos Peter Jäger shows that the CMYK workflow still common in pre-press has serious weaknesses. It is anything but user-friendly. This is the case, for example, when different source profiles are embedded in imported images of a document. InDesign then does not display the result correctly, and even Acrobat can only do this with PDFs created from InDesign under certain settings.
In the still widespread CMYK workflow, separate image files are now produced for each printing process. How time-consuming! It would be much easier and safer to work in media-neutral RGB right from the start. If you still want or have to work in CMYK, you should deactivate the "safe CMYK workflow" and bring CMYK files to be placed uniformly into the document CMYK colour space, before they are imported into the layout document.
