We make our tools available under a Creative Commons or zlib licence. The aim is a free and unhindered use of our data and, if applicable, an integration into own (also commercial) publications, whereby modifications are also possible. It should be noted that both the licence and the author freieFarbe e.V. are referenced.
CreativeCommons licence

Under the following terms:
- Attribution - You must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the licence, and indicate if changes were made. You may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses you or your use.
- NoDerivatives - If you remix, transform, or build upon the material, you may not distribute the modified material.
- No additional restrictions - You may not apply legal terms or technological measures that legally restrict others from doing anything the license permits.
Notices:
- You do not have to comply with the license for elements of the material in the public domain or where your use is permitted by an applicable exception or limitation.
- No warranties are given. The license may not give you all of the permissions necessary for your intended use. For example, other rights such as publicity, privacy, or moral rights may limit how you use the material.
zlib licence
We publish database products (e.g. freeColour HLC Colour Atlas cxf or ase files) under the zlib licence. Compared to the CreativeCommons licence, this offers even greater freedom of use for our data - i.e. even more freeColour. zlib was first defined in 1995 for the zlib compression library and has found its way into many other software areas.
The zlib licence allows free use in all conceivable (also commercial) variants and free modification of our data. However, we exclude any liability for errors contained therein. The following copyright notice must be included in the documentation, as well as a note if our original data has been modified.
